Private label means selling finished products under your own brand name. The products are made and packed by a supplier; you choose what to sell, what the label looks like, and how to market it. For Moroccan cosmetics, it is one of the fastest ways to build a brand without investing in production.

Most suppliers ask for hundreds or thousands of units per product. At Moroccan Beauty Wholesale, you can start from 50 pieces. This guide explains how to plan your first collection so those 50 pieces become a real test of your brand.

Step 1: Choose a small, focused range

The most common mistake is starting with too many products. Three to five products that fit together are easier to brand, explain and sell. A few combinations that work well:

  • Hair care: argan oil, rhassoul clay, a hair mask.
  • Hammam at home: black soap, kessa glove, rhassoul, rose water.
  • Face care: argan oil, prickly pear seed oil, rose water.

Pick products your audience already knows, and add one "discovery" product to make your range stand out.

Step 2: Decide on formats and packaging

For each product, decide:

  • Size: smaller sizes keep the retail price accessible and make trial easy.
  • Container: amber glass for oils, jars for black soap and clay, bottles with a spray for floral waters.
  • Finish: colour of caps and pumps, gift box or not.

Ask your supplier which containers are available, so your design fits real packaging.

Step 3: Prepare your label

Your label is your brand. It also has to carry some required information. Requirements vary by market, but most labels include:

  • Brand name and product name
  • What the product is for, if it isn't obvious
  • Full ingredient list (INCI names)
  • Net content (ml or g)
  • Batch number and best-before date or period after opening
  • Instructions and any warnings
  • Name and address of the company responsible for the product in your market

We provide the ingredient list and product information for each item, so your designer can prepare compliant labels.

Step 4: Check the rules in your market

Selling cosmetics comes with legal responsibilities, and they depend on where you sell:

  • European Union: each product needs a Responsible Person based in the EU, a safety assessment and notification in the EU's cosmetic portal (CPNP) before it goes on sale.
  • United Kingdom: similar rules, with a UK Responsible Person and UK notification.
  • United States: cosmetic rules were updated by the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA), which includes product listing and safety requirements.
  • Other markets: check local rules or ask a regulatory consultant.

This sounds like a lot, but many small brands handle it with a consultant for their first products. Plan for it before you order, not after.

Step 5: Order samples, then your first batch

Order samples first to check texture, scent and packaging. Once you are happy, place your first order. With a 50-piece minimum, you can test your brand without filling a warehouse.

A realistic first order might be 50 pieces split across your three to five products, or 50 pieces of your hero product plus smaller quantities of the others, depending on what you agree with us.

Step 6: Launch, learn, reorder

Your first batch is a test. Watch which product sells fastest, read customer feedback, and reorder what works. The same contact follows your order from the first message to delivery, so reorders are quick.
